The History of Lawrence Sterling
At the age of fourteen, Larry began performing with his brothers and sisters in "The Stringfield Family Band" for private parties, high school dances, and proms throughout Western Pennsylvania. They toured as an opening act for "Three Dogs Night" concerts and in 1969 toured with the Temptations, The Young Rascals, and Hoyt Acton.

Larry relocated to Memphis and worked for STAX Records as a studio musician, recorded guitar tracks for Isaac Hayes, Al Green, Sam & Dave, The Barkays, and various other artists on the STAX Record label.
Larry then moved to NEW YORK, reformed "The Stringfield Family Band" and did studio session work at "ELECTRIC-LADY-LAND" Studios in Greenwich Village. The band performed at Glen Island Casino, Trudy Hellers and the Apollo Theater, and other Manhattan night spots. When Larry next moved to Boston, he played numerous night clubs through out New England.

Larry had also worked the Island Circuit, in Bermuda, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. While in Puerto Rico, worked at Caparra Heights Recording Studio in San Juan as an assistant recording engineer. Hired by Philly International Records to record guitar tracks for disco acts such as Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, The Tramps, Van McCoys, "The Hustle" and "Blue Majik".
Larry also worked with the producers of Teddy Pendergrass. Hired next by BID Records to do production and engineering work, he became head sound engineer at Room Ten Recording Studio in Washington, DC. Larry next formed the "Shahara Zed Show Band" and signed a contract with North East Entertainment Agency. to play the Canadian night club circuit, Larry earned a Recording Arts Diploma from the Massachusettes Communications College. He is currently the President of the "SONIC CONTINUUM", owns and operates the Stargate Recording Studio, and is lead vocalist, guitarist, and steel pan player for the "I-LAND ROKKERZ BAND". A World Music Quartet that performs a "Multi-Cultural stlye of Dance Music".
